Purifiers using heat to clean the air are called thermo air cleaners. Heating air passing through the cleaner is how they work. Before passing out, air contaminants like bacteria, viruses or fungi are killed in the purifier. Air is cooled slightly before being released into the atmosphere for human use. Next we have the ultraviolet air purifiers. These will have ultraviolet rays in their systems. Air is freed from contaminants by subjecting the contaminants to rays that make them inert. Though not retained in the filter, the contaminants are released but in an inactive state thereby pausing no danger.

We also have another type of qnet net air cleaners called the High Efficiency Particulate Arrestance (HEPA) air purifiers. They work by use of trapping materials. If air is contaminated with physical contaminants such as dust, this is the ideal purifier. Dust and any physical materials like pollen are trapped within the cleaner. The filter, therefore, requires replacement of parts based on the amount of pollutants present in the air cleaned. This filter is compatible with almost all the other purifiers.

Lastly, the other common type of air purifier is the activated carbon air cleaner. Adsorption is applied by these filters to clean air. Non-solid matter in the air is converted into solid matter. The HEPA air purifier can be used together with this air cleaner.
